Wildcat Sports

Students that are involved in the school community after school tend to be more academically successful. It is a HMS primary goal to have as many students involved in athletic and extra-curricular activities as possible.

T. L. Handy offers a wide variety of non-classroom activities throughout the school year - clubs, teams, intramural sports,  creative & service opportunities, and much more! Late buses are provided Monday through Thursday in order to allow as many students as possible to participate in these opportunities to enrich student life.

footballBoth competitive sports and intramural athletics are offered. Basketball, swimming, track & field, cheerleading, pom-pons, boys’ tackle football, and cross country are part of the 7/8 grade competitive programs. Note: Cross Country also includes grade 6. Students usually “try-out” for a spot on these teams in order to play. These sports require a completed MHSAA Physical FormThere are also a wide variety of intramural sports programs that are offered on a year to year basis.  Information about these programs will be posted each school year.

Handy also offers a wide variety of "After School" programs that will center on athletics, arts, crafts, gaming, community, and much more!  Please stay tuned as we will announce programming from time to time during each school year
